Terms of Service

1. Acceptance
By using Prompty ("the Service") โ including the open-source CLI / daemon
/ MCP server, the Cloud-tier proxy at api.prompty.khalo.org, the dashboard at
app.prompty.khalo.org, and this marketing site at
prompty.khalo.org โ you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the
Service.
2. The Service
Prompty's open-source components are released under the MIT License (see the LICENSE file). Cloud tier โ the managed-key proxy + dashboard โ is an optional paid (currently free invited- beta) layer on top of the OSS code. You may continue using the OSS components without ever signing up for Cloud.
3. Cloud-tier account
To use Cloud tier you need a Cloud API key (a token starting with pck_) issued
by the Operator. Don't share your key โ it grants access to your account's plan quota.
Anyone presenting your key to api.prompty.khalo.org is treated as you, and
burns your quota.
4. Acceptable use
- Don't use the Service for anything illegal in your jurisdiction.
- Don't try to break the rate-limits, quota gates, or auth gates. (We log everything, and we'll revoke keys.)
- Don't run third-party content through the proxy that you don't have the right to send. Voice transcripts of people who haven't consented, etc.
- Don't try to reverse-engineer / extract the managed-key credentials behind Cloud.
5. Quotas + fair use
Each plan has a monthly cap on LLM calls / STT calls / audio seconds (see the dashboard). When you hit the cap the proxy returns 429 until the next cycle. Persistent breach of the spirit of the limits (e.g. abuse, scraping) is grounds for plan termination with no refund.
6. Billing
Cloud tier is currently free during invited beta. When billing turns on (planned post-beta), pricing will be announced via email to active users at least 14 days in advance, and you'll have a 30-day grace period to opt out + delete your data before any charge.
7. Service availability
We don't currently make an SLA promise. The Service is provided "as is, no warranty" โ same posture as the underlying MIT license. We do try hard to keep it up, and we'll communicate planned downtime via the dashboard.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is capped at the amount you paid for Cloud tier in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during free invited beta, is โฌ0).
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. Run prompty cloud logout +
delete your key from the dashboard, and your account is dormant. To request hard deletion
of your account row + audit log, email
hello@prompty.khalo.org and we'll process it
within 30 days.
The Operator can suspend or terminate your Cloud account if you violate these Terms.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via email + on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.
